Luxury On The Go
A luxury stroller is, of course, all about indulgence – indulging your baby, and indulging yourself. You’ve been through a lot these past nine months, and you’ve still got a lot to get through before you can take a well-earned break. Having a stroller that is pleasing to look at, and crafted with an expert hand, is a subtle pat on the back for getting this far. So – go ahead: splash out on that stroller. Because you’ve earned it. And your baby’s worth it.
Luxury strollers are often designed to convey classic, simple, elegance – all things that can be in frustratingly short supply when you have an infant! So, your baby may not keep their cute little white romper clean for more than five minutes, your nights may be spent pacing and pleading, but, when you step out with your stroller, all of that fades away.
And you don’t have to be a millionaire to afford a luxury stroller. Yes, they are a little more of an investment than other strollers – but you’re buying an image, not just another piece of baby equipment.
That being so, when you’re making this kind of investment, you want to know you’re getting the best product for your money, which is where our reviews come in.
Best Luxury Stroller Reviews 2017
The Roan Rocco Classic Pram Stroller is suitable from birth to three years, with a removable bassinet providing ideal comfort for a sleeping newborn. The Roan is a multi-terrain, full suspension stroller, which also features a folding chassis, meaning it can be stored easily, and even placed in a larger car.
The Roan features a full reclining option for baby’s comfort.
The one drawback, that does impact on the multi-terrain capability, is that the wheels are fixed. This gives a smoother overall ride, but does mean maneuverability is impacted. Also, some people have commented that the stroller sounds squeaky when in use, although this may well be a natural aspect of the suspension.
The Babyroues Letour II Lux is a lightweight luxury travel system which offers an excellent appearance, derived from high-quality craftsmanship. It can be folded with the seat attached, and features an all-weather shield. It is necessary to purchase an adapter to fit the seat to a vehicle, if you wanted to use the Babyroues as a fully functional travel system.
The Belecoo Anti-Shock offers exactly what it says. Suitable from birth to three years, and fully adjustable, with an adjustable, non-slip handle and anti-shock suspension. This smooth suspension ensures baby has a calm, soothing ride, and is happy and refreshed at the end of it. It also offers blow-out proof tires.
The bassinet element of the Belecoo cannot be used independently, meaning that you would have to leave baby in the stroller if you intended to let them sleep while you were visiting friends, or at a restaurant. Or, indeed, if you simply didn’t want to wake them to put them in their crib once you got home. The Belecoo also doesn’t offer car seat functionality, as it is purely a stroller, not a travel system, and the instructions for assembly are not particularly clear.
The luxury of the Baby Cargo Series 50 comes in its convenience and safety. The Cargo is JPMA approved, with a five-point adjustable safety harness. It also provides an adjustable suspension on soft-glide wheels, making for a smooth, silent ride.
The Cargo is a lightweight yet feature packed stroller: in addition to two internal pockets, the Cargo includes a diaper bag, changing pad, and toy in the purchase price.
The Cargo sadly isn’t ideal for taller parents, and, while it does state that it is suitable for children up to 8yrs old, it isn’t tall enough for older children to ride comfortably. The Cargo is, however, the most affordable of the luxury strollers, and offers luxury in practical, rather than aesthetic, terms.
Silver Cross Balmoral
Finally, we have the stroller every little girl – and many a grown woman – dreams of: the Silver Cross Balmoral, in sober, timeless navy blue. Handmade to a classic design, the Silver Cross truly is an investment. You’re not going to be able to fold it down to get it in your car, and it’s a little bulky for a quick trip to the shops, but, if you regularly take baby on sedate walks through streets filled with independent offerings, and you want people to notice you, you really can’t do better.
With its steel frame, the Silver Cross places safety equal to style. A solid wood handle and chrome wheels completes the look of timeless elegance, and makes the Silver Cross ideal for parents who want to keep their individuality, and continue to present a classically alternative style.
The Silver Cross doesn’t neglect baby’s experience, either, providing a lightly bouncy ride that ensures a happy, relaxed baby, and provides natural soothing as you move along. Silver Cross are well known and respected for the durability of their strollers, and many are passed down through generations of the same family, serving children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren.
If money is no object, and your day with baby is spent mainly on foot, in areas with spacious sidewalks, the Silver Cross will be an investment that truly will last a lifetime.
Luxury Strollers: Safe and Stylish
As you can see from the reviews above, having a baby doesn’t mean you have to lose your sense of style or individuality. You can appreciate your brand new life whilst still appreciating good design. And a luxury item is always in style, and built to last – so you truly are making an investment, rather than a purchase.
With luxury comes the quality craftsmanship in which safety is as automatic as breathing. Because luxury strollers aren’t usually designed with convenience being the first consideration, they’re not made to be flimsy enough for an easy fold up, even where they are lightweight to handle, and so you know your baby will be protected from any knocks and bumps.
If your personal style is individual, vintage, or high end, your stroller should be too. After all, you want to get a head start on raising the next generation in the style to which you’ve become accustomed, don’t you?
